Minerva Keltanen

Dr. Minerva Keltanen is an art historian and head of exhibitions at the National Museum of Finland since 2014. She has worked for more than 30 years in museums. At the moment she is leading an exhibition project together with the ANEE (Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires). After receiving her Master of Arts from the University of Helsinki, she became a member of the scientific research group studying Women, Wealth and Power in the Roman Empire in the Finnish Institute of Rome. In 2020 she finished her dissertation about the group of paintings with a special theme belonging to the late sixteenth-century "pitture ridicole", "ridiculous pictures", which were intended to provoke laughter in the viewer. She is also an author for several exhibition catalogues and books, including a children book.
